It was a multi-part interview with Bill Moyers, but I can't think of what it's title was. I do know that Joseph Campbell himself was world-reknown for his mythological and comparitive religon studies, and I remeber the show being very thought provoking. The interview with Campbell even took place at Skywalker Ranch, and I'm fairly sure Lucas and Campbell knew each other pretty well (Campbell died a few years ago). Rimrunner wrote: That would be The Power of Myth, with Bill Moyers. It's available in book and video form. Campbell's The Hero with a Thousand Faces is worth checking out too, if only because Star Wars is a Hero's Tale (tm) par excellence. There's also a book called Force of Star Wars by Frank Allnutt, which I believe discusses Star Wars from a Christian perspective. (I haven't seen this book, only heard about it.) It was published by Fleming H Revell in 1977. It's out of print, but you might be able to find it in a library. (A note of warning: Revell titles are now carried by Baker Book House, which is a rather extreme publishing company. Therefore, if you do find this book, I'd advise taking its contents with a big ol' salt lick. :) Other books that don't address Star Wars directly, but which make interesting comparative reading, are Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by D.T. Suzuki and The Celts by Jean Markale (the latter is rather dense; depends how much depth you want to get into here).
