[ Season 1 !Season 2 !Season 3 !Season 4 !Season 5 ! Season 6 !Season 7 !Season 8 ]
Leo is being slowly written out of the show. He gets promoted to Elder status, so he will not be around much. The Charmed Ones have a new Whitelighter, Chris (Drew Fuller). And Piper, Leo's baby-mama, is breaking up with him. Yes, poor old Cole is not the only Halliwell Husband to get the big heave-ho.
Leo gets sent to Valhalla by accident. The souls of some great warriors escape from Valhalla and stalk the streets of San Francisco. Melissa George and her valkyries pursue them in order to return them to their afterlife.
Meanwhile, the Charmed Ones all have new superpowers. Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) is an empath, and is overwhelmed by everyone's emotions.
The Power of Three is sundered because Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) is now a Valkyrie. In comparison to her, Melissa George looks a lot taller and more beautiful than she ever did in Alias . The Valkyries try to blend into modern-day San Francisco by beating up a biker gang and stealing their clothes and motorcycles. It may have worked in Terminator 2 but it is not really the same here.
The Charmed Ones find they are missing an entire day. What they do not realise is that they are missing the baby too.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) is now an empath, and was overwhelmed by everyone's emotions. She accidentally started a riot in the office she works in. This is unfairly blamed on her - she may feel everyone else's emotions, but she cannot broadcast them.
It turns out that baby Wyatt started using magic. He created a fire-breathing dragon, which caused havoc across the city. The magical beings who maintain secrecy decide to stop him from re-offending.
The brunette heroines fall victim to Identity Theft. A trio of blonde villainesses ( Jenny McCarthy, Jennifer Sky ) cast a spell that makes the whole world (including the Book of Shadows) believe they are the Charmed Ones. Then they go on a hedonistic spree, enjoying themselves in the way the Halliwells ought to. They are not warlocks, just women out to have a good time.
The casting is quite ironic. Sky is younger and more attractive than McCarthy, so more naturally suited to being the replacement of Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ).
Also, the morality of the TV show itself is dubious. The Fake Phoebe promotes multiple sex partners, a healthy and mature thing to do. The real Phoebe believes that career-women should trap themselves a rich husband. Hmm. Worse, when the Fake Paige starts a Trade Union to get better pay and safer working conditions for immigrant fruit-packers (in a gremlin-infested warehouse), the show implies she is a villain!
Paige ( Rose Magowan ) applies to a Temp agency, and is sent to help an OAP. Unfortunately the old lady is part of a magical feud between two families of witches. Paige falls for a guy in one of the families, and tries to end the feud.
Meanwhile, Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) goes on her first date after seperating with Leo.
The annoying teen from the future hires a Mage (Mako - Conan the Barbarian ) to make him a secret potion. He wants to hide his thoughts from Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ), who is now a levitating Empath.
Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) is attacked by a demon (the English guy from Roswell: Season 2 ). She is alone, playing happy homemaker. Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) is guest-hosting a TV show, interviewing a lady author about her book on orgasms. Luckily the demonic intervention helps distract the viewers from the mature nature of the discussion. Meanwhile, Paige ( Rose McGowan ) uses real magic to help an illusionist in an Old Folks Home.
Piper wants a normal suburban life without magic. The pay-off for the mostly-female audience is that she gets to ogle some male strippers. Unfortunately, without magic her baby is more vulnerable than ever.
Leo does not trust Chris, who has an ulterior agenda. Chris states he is secretly from the future and that he has come to protect Wyatt, Leo’s son. However, Leo suspects that there is something else that Chris is not telling him.
Chris decides to teach the Charmed Ones a lesson for putting their personal lives above their Wiccan chores. How dare they want to have a work-life balance!
Paige ( Rose McGowan ) is a success at her temp job, being a well-organised assistant to an accountant. Also she wears a very skimpy blouse, which may have contributed to her success with her male boss. Unfortunately his success was due to selling his soul, and now the demons want to collect. Keith Sjarabaka ( Angel: Season 3 ) is the King of the Crossroads, like Crowley in Supernatural .
Leo tracks down Chris, and discovers he has been secretly using a time-travel device. They end up on an expensive location shoot in a prehistoric desert, being hunted by a CGI Tyranosaurus Rex.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) is back in her newspaper, forced to partner with a slobby fat man. He is offensively masculine, intended to seem villainous to the mostly-female audience. Since she is unarmed in a battle of wits, she changes him into a farmyard animal whenever he challenges her.
Despite the selfish nature of the accountant's Faustian deal, Paige is obsessed with helping him. Instead of using the Power Of Three, she teams up with a male Wiccan, Jason (Balthazar Getty - Alias: Season 5 ) from a previous episode.
Paige's new boyfriend (Balthazar Getty - Alias: Season 5 ) uses magic to unblock the kitchen sink. Nobody calls this a breach of the personal gain clause, although Phoebe is concerned because the BF is a reformed magic addict. Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) tries using magic to unblock the bathroom sink, and accidentally summons the Lady of the Lake. The Charmed Ones find themselves playing nursemaid to Excalibur, the sword in the stone. Well, Piper does - Phoebe has work to do, and Paige has a temp job as her new office manager.
Danny Woodburn ( Special Unit 2 ) and all the other good-aligned magical creatures take turns testing themselves on Excalibur. Only the true ruler of Camelot can pull the sword from the stone. The Black Knight also wants Excalibur for himself, to set up a new powerbase at the centre of the Underworld. Predictably it is Piper who manages to lift the sword. She gets supreme power - but absolute power corrupts absolutely. Instead of spending time with her baby, she fills her round table with demonic entities and starts a career as an Evil Overlord. Luckily, even a whole bunch of demon powers does not make a villain Excalibur-proof.
The sisters vanquish a lizard-man. Unfortunately, its baby survives. The sprog looks just like a human baby (complete with V: The Final Battle style forked tongue), so they keep it as a playmate for Wyatt!
Chris is unhappy with this, but the sisters ignore him. Leo spends his time meditating atop the Golden Gate bridge.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) accidentally tells her millionaire BF that she loves him. He arranges a new job ... in Italy!
Paige ( Rose Magowan ) helps the tame cop by giving him a superpower. He becomes bulletproof!
A mystery babe arrives through a portal with a mission to get Chris. She is in skintight cleavage-enhancing rubber-wear, and magically removes the sisters' inhibitions Naturally, they all end up in bed with their BFs.
The babe wants to take Chris back to where he came from. We get to see where he came from, and why!
The girls go back to 1967. Granny is a 20-something flower-child, with no daughter or grandaughters in sight. Amazing, since the sisters were all born within five years of that time.
Leo is a horny hippy, not the Medal of Honour hero he is supposed to have been. Darrell's dad has an afro. That is the most believable thing in the episode.
Jake Busey ( Starship Troopers ) is the villain-of-the-week warlock.
It is Piper's birthday and she has lost interest in Luuuurve. So, her sisters conjur up a french-accented male model who appears to be the perfect man.
As an excuse for a plot, a group of demons led by Bruce Payne ( Dungeons and Dragons ) believe that baby Wyatt is the reincarnation of their dead leader. Like an evil Dalai Lama. So they try to kidnap the baby and turn him evil!
Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) has a Death list. She hunts down the African-American Swarm Demons - genocide!
Paige’s BF Jason (Balthazar Getty - Alias ), the teen-boy survivor of the feud ( Rose McGowan 's boyfriend), is living with the sisters. He will not take responsibility for his personal magic-addictive behaviour. He blames karma - his own and his family’s. Unfortunately there is no spell to cleanse one’s karma. Instead he tries a shortcut. He casts an aura-cleanser, but Phoebe gets possessed by Mata Hari.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) gets afflicted with the karma of Mata Hari, the stage name of the Dutch stage performer Marguerite Zeller. Unfortunately this show takes a predictably negative view of Mata Hari, although it is nice to see Ms Milano play a character with a greater level of sophistication and maturity than usual. When her boring boyfriend chooses work over love, Evil Phoebe gate-crashes his formal event in a two-piece evening dress. Then she teams up with a gang of insectoid demons.
Phoebe/Mata Hari speaks French, though the woman's native language was actually Dutch. She dresses in a Bikini - Showing a little skin never hurts. She is meant to be a Femme Fatale - with THAT hair? Woah - with THOSE breasts!
The Charmed ones are called in to save Magic School fom the Headless horseman. Yes, San Francisco has its own low-budget Hogwarts, run by an English (ie creepy) fellow named Gideon.
This is basically a TV-budget rip-off of a couple of big-budget blockbuster movies. The characters are pretty cliched, too. But for this TV show, that is nothing unusual.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) gets sent on a vision quest. After all, she has been confused since Season One!
The annoying teenage whitelighter needs to reunite Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) and Leo.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) helps a genie, but swops places with her. She gets the Barbara Eden wig, but her costume proudly displays the belly-button.
Paige ( Rose Magowan ) tries to remove her boyfriend's magic powers - not her sister's, though.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) attends her Hi-skool reunion. she warps into Phreebee, her teenage alter-ego who had better hair (well, more of it) but showed a lot less cleavage. She ends up getting mixed up with school-buddy convict Rodney Rowland ( Space: Above and Beyond ).
Chris and his grandfather (James Read) start to bond. Unfortunately they are targeted by acid-spitting demons.
The Spider demon ( Jodi lyn O'Keefe ), a 26-year-old 5ft-10in Goth chick who has web-shooters in her wrists, wants to drain Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ). Chris gets turned into her Renfield.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) and Paige ( Rose Magowan ) must save the day. but Chris has a lot of unresolved anger issues concerning his deadbeat Dad, Leo - who is taking his career as an Elder more seriously than family commitments.
Paige's clients, the evicted tenants of the enchanted forest, help out.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) and Paige ( Rose Magowan ) are videotaped in action by Inspector Sheridan ( Jenya Lano ). The Cleaners magically alter the tape (and Sheridan's memories) to frame Daryl for murder.
The sisters appeal to the Tribuneral.Guideon is their advocate, while Barbas (Billy Drago - Vamp ), Fear Demon, is the Prosecution.
Piper ( Holly Marie Combs ) tries to bust Daryl out of death Row.
Paige ( Rose Magowan ) conjurs up Mr Right. Unfortunately, the Personal Gain clause means that she also creates a demonic version, Mr Wrong.
The demon guy knows everything Paige knows, thinks like her and is bound by her rules (no killing innocents, and so on). Of course, he uses minions - in this case a bunch of blonde female assassins in skimpy black leather bikinis. Their leader - Jennnifer O'Dell !
Predictably enough, sexy Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ), with that disgusting nose-stud, must disguise herself in a sexy black-leather cleavage-enhancing garb.
This is Reality TV for demons. Someone comes up with the idea of broadcasting encounters with the Charmed Ones as Demonic pay-per-view!
The fact is, though Reality TV is a terrible thing, this concept is actually quite entertaining.
Gideon, the English goatee-wearing Elder, sends Leo and Chris to the Future. It is actuallY a Mirror universe. Literally! Gideon plays chess with his eeevil opposite!
In the Mirror universe, Leo has a goatee and Chris drinks beer. P3 is full of lapdancers, and Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) is in even skimpier gear! Her hair is better, though.
The Balance has been upset, and they must find Barbas (Billy Drago - Vamp ) the Hope Demon.
This is part 1 of 2.
To restore the balance, Gideon recruits Barbas (Billy Drago - Vamp ).
The sisters have to contend with overly-happy people. Of course, the rules are enforced with corporal and capital punishment.
Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano ) Pru ( Shannen Doherty ) Paige ( Rose McGowan ) and Piper ( Holly Marie Combs )
