This is book two in a series, the end of which was reviewed in our February
edition.
The book starts with the series' protagonist, Owen Deathstalker, setting up a Rebellion against the Evil Empire. He gets together representatives of a number of different factions, and they set out in teams to each fulfil specific missions.
The second half of the book tells of one of those missions. Jack Random and Ruby Journey participate in a Trench war, leading a rabble of rowdy and ragged rebels against well-armed mercenaries. If theyfail, the Evil Empress will get access to a new type of hyperdrive ..
