    Captain Scarlet [Season 1, Episode 1] The Mysterons

    It is the year 2068, and Earth sends a team to explore Mars. The team work for the Spectrum organisation, and they are led by Captain Black. The humans discover an alien city inhabited by a species called The Mysterons. Thinking the aliens are hostile, the humans destroy the city.

    The Mysterons survive, but vow to get their revenge on Earth. Their target will be Earth's President. Spectrum are in charge of protecting the President, and assign their best men - one of whom is Captain Scarlett. The real hero of the episode is Captain Blue (voiced by Ed Bishop). The Mysterons, however, have the ability to control minds and use humans as their pawns. By the end the show's fundamental aspects have all been set up.
