Langoliers are mysterious beasties that devour the past - which is bad news for the handful of people who wake up aboard their 747 after it has flown through an unusual weather formation near Los Angeles. The resident novelist (Dean Stockwell - Quantum Leap ) observes that the other passengers have been disentigrated (their clothes and inorganic prostheses are still present), so for some reason they avoid major cities and go to Bangor, Maine.

Trapped in a mysterious landscape devoid of people, where sound has no echo and food no taste, where nothing is real, one of the passengers (Bronson Pinchot - Lois & Clark ) goes insane. Luckily another passenger is a British Govt enforcer!
