    Steed goes undercover, and speaks to Burt Kwouk [ Monkey, Water Margin ] about miniaturised computer components and robotics. Then he meets Michael Gough [ Horror Hospital ], a wheelchair-bound genius.

    Crippled madmen, iconic recurring villains ... Coincidentally, this ep was made around the time the Daleks and Cybermen were developed for Doctor Who .

    The trail leads to RanSack, a club for egg-heads. Steed and Peel join up, and attend a co-ed college in a stately home.

    There's a fight in the Gymnasium, not entirely dissimilar to a fight in The Prisoner.

    The Avengers must discover what new superweapon is threatening national defence, and defeat the villain in the final act. Just like they do in most eps.

    A suspicious milkman is in the area. This seems to be a motif in 1960s spy films: Carry On Spying used one [jesting on the fact that Sean Connery used to be one!], and one played an important role in an episode of The Prisoner . And when one appeared in The Living Daylights , perhaps that was a subtle reference.

    They also discover that the killer is emulating a comic-strip character. Which leads to a climax that mocks the Batman TV show. Steed hits the killer with boards that have cheesy sound-effects written on them!
