The Fades (2011) [Season 1, Episode 1]

A pair of teenage schoolboys, Paul (Iain De Caestecker - Agents of Shield ) and Mac (Daniel Kaluuya - Get Out! ), go exploring in a disused shopping mall in London one night. They witness Neil (Johnny Harris) and Sarah ( Natalie Dormer ) fighting some kind of demonic entity.
By incredible coincidence, Paul has had visions of an apocalyptic future. Luckily Neil is around to act as a mentor to him. They both have the same superpower, the ability to see ghosts.
In another incredible coincidence, Sarah's ex-husband Mark (Tom Ellis - Lucifer ) is Paul's history teacher. He gets visited by Helen ( Daniela Nardini ), a female preacher who is part of Sarah's demon-fighting gang.
There are two things that are very impressive about this show. The first is the CGI SPFX, which seem to be very high-end - even by 2022's standard, never mind that of 2011. The second is the cast, most of whom were unknowns at the time but have now gone on to bigger and better things. Even Mark's one-night-stand is Eleanor Matsuura , who is now a semi-regular in The Walking Dead . Unfortunately this means the show was a victim of its own success, and the cast cannot be reunited without multi-million salaries.

Mac (Daniel Kaluuya - Get Out! ) narrates a previously-on segment. Paul (Iain De Caestecker - Agents of Shield ) then has a vision of what might happen in the next episodes.
Sarah's ex-husband Mark (Tom Ellis - Lucifer ) gets some pity sex from Eleanor Matsuura . He also begins to uncover details of her secret life.
The demon has been recruiting Fades to his cause. Even Natalie, the pretty girl ghost, is susceptible. They start abducting children and eating them. Meanwhile Paul's sister is organising the school disco. What could possibly go wrong?

The teacher (Tom Ellis - Lucifer ) visits the Police DCI, and tells him about the links between the missing persons and the creepy dude who was suspected of screwing the teacher's wife. Since the DCI is under pressure for results, how long will it be before he arrests someone?
Paul (Iain De Caestecker - Agents of Shield ) tries to balance his sex life with Jay, his friendship with Mac (Daniel Kaluuya - Get Out! ), and his new demon-hunting destiny as a super-hero. This all ends on an unexpected twist.
The Fades (2011) [Season 1, Episode 4]

Mac (Daniel Kaluuya - Get Out! ) narrates the intro again. He meets the surviving Angelicals, and tries to get them to reunite Paul's soul with his body.
Paul (Iain De Caestecker - Agents of Shield ) meets the demonic angelical-slayer (Joe Dempsie - Game of Thrones ), who outsmarts him and talks him into a deal. Paul agrees to help the demon to free the ghost girl who is being tortured by the Angelicals. Of course, it does not go as Paul expected.
The Fades (2011) [Season 1, Episode 5]

The police are deluged with missing persons calls, so they set up a crisis centre in the school. The teacher (Tom Ellis - Lucifer ) turns up to help out, and meets his one-night stand ( Eleanor Matsuura ). Paul's shrink, Dr Tremlett, runs counseling sessions in the gymn.
Joe (Joe Dempsie - Game of Thrones ) has a plan of his own. After all, he has military experience from the Second World War so he knows to plan ahead. It turns out that putting all the potential victims in one place, rather than just evacuating the village, is not a great idea.
The main Angelical has a plan of his own. He gets Sarah ( Natalie Dormer ) to start eating meat. How long will it be before she turns to cannibalism?
Paul (Iain De Caestecker - Agents of Shield ) is back, but he is still uncertain of his powers. Has he been corrupted by Joe?
The climax seems like an ending for the story. But there are so many loose ends, the story will keep running for another episode.
The Fades (2011) [Season 1, Episode 6]

Mac (Daniel Kaluuya - Get Out! narrates things from his confinement. Neil has all Paul's loved ones held prisoner, and he will go to any lengths to make Paul wipe out the Fades.
Paul works out where the location of the crossover point is. There is a reason that the story started in the disused shopping centre. Now the survivors go there so Paul can re-open the portal.
