Lia Haddock ( Jessica Biel ) is obsessed with the Limetown incident. Fifteen years earlier, her uncle Emile Haddock (Stanley Tucci - The Core ) and three hundred other people disappeared without trace. They were the entire population of Limetown, a settlement of biologists and their families.
Although no living persons were located, FBI Agent Sadia Latifi ( Rekha Sharma ) discovered the mutilated body of Dr Oskar Totem (Alessandro Juliani - Battlestar Galactica (2003) ).
The disappearances are reminiscent of The Leftovers . This seems like something by Stephen King , such as The Mist or its homage, Stranger Things .
Lia meets up with someone who claims to be a survivor of Limetown. She tells a story about how she moved into the utopian village that seems reminiscent of Wayward Pines . The narrator got a job as a janitor, like Roger Workman at the Dharma Initiative in Lost .
Lia and her sidekick go to Rake, Wyoming, to find the second survivor. They meet French Stewart ( Third Rock from The Sun ).
Lia interviews the second survivor. He looked after the pigs in Limetown, and explains how they ended up in a mass grave. He also says straigh-out what the first survivor implied about the experiments being performed by Dr Oskar Totem (Alessandro Juliani - Battlestar Galactica (2003) ).
Lia goes to meet Hiro Kanagawa ( iZombie ), the billionaire who financed the Limetown experiments.
Lia and her sidekick go to find the third survivor. They meet Dr Max Finlayson (Louis Ferreira - Stargate: Universe ).
The mainstream media have caught on to the trail of bodies that Lia Haddock ( Jessica Biel ) has left in her wake during her investigation. Even her reluctant assistant, Mark the heterontomative-acting CIS-gendered white-looking male, is unwilling to proceed any further.
Lia Haddock ( Jessica Biel ) flies to Germany to interview the next survivor ( Marlee Matlin ). Unfortunately FBI Agent Sadia Latifi ( Rekha Sharma ) insists that Lia wears a wire on behalf of Interpol.
It turns out that the problem was not the technology, it was the social aspect. Half of the population was denied assess to the tech, and these left-behinds start to plot against Oskar Totem (Alessandro Juliani - Battlestar Galactica (2003) ).
Lia Haddock ( Jessica Biel ) finally meets up with her uncle Emile Haddock (Stanley Tucci - The Core ). He delivers little exposition, and is mainly around to build up suspense before the climactic final episode.
Lia Haddock ( Jessica Biel ) interviews a mysterious woman who claims to be an unlisted survivor. She has been characterised as a villain, but it turns out that she is merely a person who had to use an extreme backup plan in order to salvage a situation that was ruined by the poor decisions of others.
