A massive statue of Buddha's head is excavated from an archaeological site in South Korea. The county's Governor has it installed in the local civic centre.
Some scientists and monks meet up to discuss the legend of the haunted statue.
The county experiences a shower of black rain.

A tweenage delinquent is let out of prison. He gets his gang together, and they go looking for the kid he blames for informing on him. The target, the son of the female police chief, is doing community service cleaning the county civic centre.
The Governor holds the grand unveiling of the haunted statue. Instead of just rain, this time the statue causes a riot.

The scientist and the female police chief try to get around the army cordon. They run into a flock of The Birds .

Inside the civic centre, the Governor is reluctant to straight-up kill people. Instead he decides to put the suspects outside, even though most of them are not actually possessed. When this plan is unworkable, he has them barricaded inside an office while the others try to escape.
The scientist and the female police chief get around the army cordon. They discover a dead cop, although whoever killed him left his revolver and cuffs. Also, there is good cell-phone reception so they can get advice from the Buddhist monks.

The scientist has to fight his wife.
In the epilogue, there is setup for a sequel series. A couple of the characters have teamed up as ghost-hunters doing a podcast series about their adventures.
