Nathan (Russell Tovey - Being Human (UK) ) is alone and apparently borderline suicidal when he gets an unexpected and unwelcome visit from his former friend creepy Bob (Bertie Carvel - Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell ). The two of them share a sinister secret.
Nathan's wife, Holly ( Amrita Acharia ), returns from a TV interview which had her giving a speech about her long-lost sister Elise. Yes, the sinister secret may involve her disappearance. Also, Bob seems to have discovered a supernatural element to the situation.
We get a series of flashbacks to different points in Nathan's past. He used to work as tech support on a radio show, which starred Bob as an expert on ghosts and the paranormal.
In another flashback, Nathan continued to pursue a relationship with Holly. Jackie turns out to be Holly's best friend.
We get a flashback of Nathan (Russell Tovey - Being Human (UK) ) on his wedding day. His wife, Holly ( Amrita Acharia ), gives a speech about her long-lost sister Elise. Nathan looks incredibly shifty and guilty, as if he knows the fate of the missing sister.
In the main timeline, Nathan and his creepy mate Bob (Bertie Carvel - Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell ) dispose of some evidence. Meanwhile, Holly begins to suspect her house is haunted.
Jackie ( Nina Toussaint-White ) investigates Bob. It turns out he was fired from his job as a college lecturer when he was outed as a paranormal investigator.
As always in Film Noir, a crime has happened and the protagonist is implicated. Jackie ( Nina Toussaint-White ) is closing in on creepy Bob (Bertie Carvel - Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell ). Will Nathan (Russell Tovey - Being Human (UK) ) turn himself in, or cover his tracks?
Nathan is not exactly a criminal mastermind. His wife, Holly ( Amrita Acharia ), tends to overreact to things. Worst of all, it seems that ghosts might be real. So what will the twist ending be?
