FBI Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love ) and his LA FBI team are conducting Counter-Terrorist Operations ... when everyone in the world suddenly blacks out and has visions of their future. Yes, everyone knows what they will be doing in exactly 6 months time.
This starts the series with a vast number of questions. How will the characters' begin their path to an unlikely future? If their future is negative, how will they change it for the better? Who was responsible for the blackout, and how? And finally ... how come, even though the whole world was blacked out, one man was caught on CCTV still moving?
This is billed as "The new Lost ". It certainly has some of that show's strengths. There is an ensemble cast, with each character having an episode to explain their background and their flash forward, as they try to build their own personal future. Of course, there are several differences. The most important fact is that this show is actually based on a somewhat obscure novel (a loose adaptation, of course, to fit the episodic nature of a television series). Thus, the story arc is pre-planned and has an actual explanation and conclusion. This removes one of the complaints about Lost and other TV shows - their open-ended, make-it-up-as-we-go-along ethos.
The FBI team follow a lead linking the Moving Man to a small town. They investigate, and end up in a shootout ...
FBI Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love ) and his female sidekick Janis visit Germany, and interview a Nazi War Criminal. He gives them a vital piece of info about the event - it kills crows. However, this encounter raises more questions than it answers. Can the FBI change the future by preventing someone from getting their new job? Is the slightly butch female Fed a closet lesbian?
The Lady doctor ( Sonya Walger ) is in denial about her Flash forward. She tries to convince herself that they are mere hallucinations, to the extent that she will ignore clues that might save a patient.

The FBI start to investigate the Blue Hand people.
The token Black FBI Agent gets an episode. This leads to one of the most poignant scenes in the show so far. We get to see if the future is actually malleable. But as always, this asks more questions than it answers.
The Feds infiltrate the Blue Hand cult. It turns out that Demetri (John Cho - Sleepy Hollow ) the Korean Fed is not the only one who has realised that people who did not have flashes are going to die. And those who have nothing to lose are willing to risk everything ...

The rest of the team, including the Hobbit (Dominic Monaghan - Lord of the Rings ), go to Somalia. But despite his intentions and Internet access, he has never heard of the Mosaic website!
The tower holds a number of surprises, and asks more questions than it answers.
The FBI digs up D Gibbons' past, but as they get closer they cannot work out how he knows what they are doing. Even though he states he has flashed forward before, and thus can probably see what they did, the Feds assume there is a Mole. FBI Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love ) and Vogel start a mole hunt.
The Japanese girl is in LA, looking for cancer intern. She befriends a Latino street-racer, while the intern is still hanging out with work experience girl ( Peyton List ).
Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport - Pirates of the Caribbean ) makes progress on a cure for the blackout.
Jericho, the corrupt military contractor, has come to the attention of people in authority. Shakespeare's boss at the FBI takes an interest in the ex-Marine's revenge mission.

FBI Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love ), now inebriated, goes to FBI HQ to examine his notice-board. The villains send a well-armed hit-squad in, wiping out the HRT in the process. Can a couple of field agents with hand-guns succeed where a SWAT team with body armour and automatic weapons did not? Well, this is the basis for Hollywood action films, so be prepared for an action-packed climax. Unfortunately the show was cancelled, so it all ends on a cliffhanger.
