Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) is a photojournalist who has the strangest power over co-incidence. He bumbles into a situation where he gets arrested on suspicion of shooting two police officers. As the detectives discover, he has been arrested for other offences (and never convicted) twenty-three times. Even worse, the REAL gunman steals Harper's wallet and takes over the man's life.
Harper also discovers something about his own past, and gains a personal quest to find his blood relatives.
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) has his car stolen, and he uncovers a kidnapping. He also has to take his driving test at the same time. Of note, the driving instructor is Mr Trick from Season 3 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) saves a man who is trying to commit suicide. It turns out that an innocent man is on Death Row, and Chance must help the real killer to save the patsy. Chance suspects that the patsy, who was the victim of unbelievably bad luck, is his long-lost brother.
This is a nice anti-Death Penalty episode, and the final race against time is suspenseful and well-done.
Angie the waitress ( Frances Fisher ) somehow catches Harper's luck. She witnesses a murder committed by a sexy all-girl street-gang, and tries to make a happy ending out of it.
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) is sent to an ice-hockey game to get photographs of a top young player. By strange luck he manages to meet and befriend the player, who is under a lot of stress and is showing signs of alcohol abuse. As Harper gets dragged deeper into the situation, he discovers that a big-time illegal gambler is involved.
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) witnesses a motorbike crash. The injured biker hands him a black cube, a Corrupka, which seems to have even stranger powers than he does.
Harper's personal mission is to find his brother, his only living family. He discovers the house that they lived in before the air crash. His shrink gives him hypnotic regression, and he sees his father. Eventually he finds his brother (Scott Plank - L.A. Takedown).

Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) meets up with a woman who has similar Strange Luck. Her father (James Cromwell - Star Trek 8: First Contact ) is a Television Evangelist. The woman is seen as a miracle-worker, and a Stephen Hawkings-looking Billionaire wants her to heal him.
The episode tries to explore the origins of Chance's Luck. His brother gets mentioned.
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) receives a phone call in the middle of the night. It is a wrong number, but he discovers the caller is an ex-girlfriend of his. She has a penchant for rich, abusive men ... and they have a tendancy to end up dead.
Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) rescues a woman who is trapped in an elevator. She proposes to the reporter whose stories Harper photographs for.
In a follow-up to the previous episode, Chance Harper (D.B. Sweeney - The Event ) discovers that the super-hacker has deposited two million dollars in his account. On the down side, not only does the hacker cut off his phones and electricity, the MegaCorp that owned the money wants it back.
