A couple of supporting villains are quickly written out. However, the main confrontation is left for the next episode.
The surviving central characters all bump into each other for the final confrontation. Can Hiro stop Syler? Will Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia - Gotham ) himself explode?
Compared to the rest of the series, this is something of a let-down. The confrontation is brief and anti-climactic, both visually and in terms of story-telling.
The epilogue is somewhat predictable, but we finally get to see the eclipse.

Apparently THAT is why Syler went on his rampage in Season One. But why did he do it in Season Two, when his powers were stripped from him? And what happened to Peter's power to automatically regenerate from Death?

Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia - Gotham ) goes hunting Sylar. He is in denial about losing his brother.
Hiro manages to get back to Ando. But the time-meddling means that Ando has forgotten a lot of his comic-book knowledge. Which is a pity, because Hiro's brain tumour has made him so delusional that he thinks he is Don Quixote! Somehow, they must work out how to free the Doctor.

HRG is a prisoner of Samuel (Robert Knepper - Hitman ) in the Carnival. Samuel uses this as an opportunity to try to convert Claire Bennett ( Hayden Panettiere ). She already went through her anti-father rebellious phase in Season One, so it does not have much chance of working.
The Heroes head to the Carnival for a final showdown with Samuel (Robert Knepper - Hitman ). Syler is now one of the good guys, but will he remember this?
Claire Bennett ( Hayden Panettiere ) ends the show with everything going full circle. Will the humans accept the super-powered folk in their midst?
This is set several years after the superpowers were made public to the general population. The superhumans were called Evos, as in Evolved Humans. A year ago, on 13th June, Primatech held a Human/Evo Convention. Someone blew it up, and HRG was the only visible survivor. Even Claire is somehow believed dead. Mohinder got the blame, and the USA became an anti-Evo Police State. HRG investigates, and discovers a conspiracy.
Tommy Clarke (Robbie Kay - the evil Peter Pan in Once Upon A Time ) is a schoolboy with a secret superpower. He and others like him are being hunted by gun-toting vigilantes. And surprisingly, a couple of mere mortals can take out a room full of superhumans quite quickly armed with nothing more than a pistol and a fire extinguisher. The Hunter guy is Zachary Levi (AKA Chuck ) but he does not have a chip in his head, so he really has no special advantage or equaliser.
Tommy Clarke (Robbie Kay - Once Upon A Time ) gets blackmailed into taking care of the school bully's cliched drunken redneck child-beating stepfather. He does not know where the things he zapps go to, and he has never bothered to find out. Luckily he is being stalked by Pruitt Taylor Vince ( ).
The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) and his wife are locked in a mysterious cell somewhere. They manage to get out, but rather than find out what is going on they go on a kill-crazy rampage. This means they kill the only people who actually had any clue as to what was really going on.
In New york City, a little red-headed femme fatale ( Francesca Eastwood ) tries to seduce a super-powered grifter. Things get a little bit too complicated, with double-crosses to make the storyline last longer.
In Odessa, HRG teams up with the conspiracy theorist. The man is a stranger, his only stated goal is to help HRG get his memory back ... a memory that HRG had removed on purpose, presumably to protect Claire. If anything, the theorist is an obvious suspect to be involved in the conspiracy. Perhaps this is only obvious in the era after Dollhouse . Speaking of conspiracies, when they search HRG's old office in the basement of Primatech they discover all the files of the known Evos, not even locked up in a filing cabinet! Nobody ever considers what that info could do in the wrong hands. Even HRG does not think of destroying it or protecting it somehow.
In Los Angeles, the Mexican wrestler decides to help the underground railroad. It turns out they are being targeted by a secret gang within the LAPD.
In Tokyo, the Katana Girl teams up with the gamer nerd. The sword allows her to enter a VR world where she can find out what happened to her father.
Katana Girl infiltrates the Tokyo HQ of the mysterious Mega-corp. The plot-threads all start to come together. For example, her magic katana turns out to be Hiro's sword! Also, the Mega-Corp is behind the abductions. They have a secret plan for world domination, and they equate unregistered Evos with hostile.
The hunter couple have a whole stack of Evos to kill. Who will be the next victim? There is one minor problem with their plan. The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) discovers he has a secret issue ...
HRG and his new sidekick visit the hospital. The bad news is, HRG apparently left a trail of destruction in his wake the last time he was there. The good news is, they somehow the hospital still has its security video of the event a full YEAR afterwards, even though most places only keep them a few months at most. The bad news is, chunks are missing. The good news, HRG recognises the time-skipping phenomenon and remembers there is only one person with a Time Travel superpower.
Tommy Clarke (Robbie Kay - Once Upon A Time ) and his mother were in a car crash. He gets her to hospital, but if he donates blood it will be DNA checked. This means he will be exposed to the FBI.
The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) decides to tell his spouse about his secret. Unfortunately this honesty will not do their already fragile relationship any good.

Katana girl and her sidekick arrive in the USA. Their next step involves a group of Cosplayers!
Tommy Clarke (Robbie Kay - Once Upon A Time ) gets indexed by the FBI. Worse, the landlord evicts Tommy and his mother because they were illegal Evos. This is just a single example of the low-level harrassment and prejudice that certain minorities suffer from. There is other bad news. The DNA check also revealed that his blood group is AB and his mother's is O, so he must have been adopted ...
HRG and his sidekicks take the fight to the enemy. They discover that the MegaCorp has stockpiled a seed bank, like something they would need to rebuild after an Extinction Level Event.
Katana Girl and her sidekick infiltrate the enemy stronghold. It is obviously a trap, but they are heroes so they plough on regardless.
The invisible girl gets to her pick-up point in Quebec, but there is nobody there to meet her. Worse, Mister Multiples is following her - and she is dumb enough to lead him back to her charge. Worse still, the villains actually have another supervillain as backup.
The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) heads home. He wants to sell his share of the business to his partner.
Noah and his sidekick go to the next enemy facility. They want to save Hiro Nakamura.

The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) spends his money on a yacht. This is to facilitate the final stage of his journey. By incredible coincidence, the Canadian girl ditches her lift at a yacht club ...
Hiro agrees to take Noah back a year to 13th of June, when the catastrophic bombing killed so many people. However, the one condition is that they must not change anything. If they do, it will have drastic consequences for the timeline.
Noah finds out what really happened to Claire. This is really a Jump The Shark moment, although technically this is a new mini-series rather than a direct continuation. By that logic, then, Peacekeeper Wars can be forgiven for dragging Farscape down so far. Let us say that Claire's fate is linked to the years she was missing. Who on earth was she with, and where has he gone?
Mrs Petrelli was still around, and she tried to stop the villains from taking over. No sign of her son or most of the other regulars. Mohinder Suresh gets a brief appearance, dressed in exactly the same suit he wore in Lucky Man . Perhaps this is the most creepy and surreal part of the whole episode!
The catastrophic bombing has taken place. After all, if Hiro and Noah prevented it then the whole timeline would not happen. Would this be a bad thing? After all, the whole timeline is based on killing off all the old series characters and replacing them with cheap substitutes.
HRG goes after the Evil Overlady. Of course, all that happens is he changes history slightly. Also, he discovers what happened to Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg - Alias, Lost ).
Hiro and Mrs Petrelli get new responsibilities. This explains why they have not appeared in the story until now.
The hunter couple have lost their only son. However, instead of grieving they decide to take revenge by murdering random Evos.
Back in the modern day, the Latino vigilante and the corrupt cop try to break into the prison. It turns out to be a surreal place, like The Village in The Prisoner .
HRG tracks down his grandchildren. But he is not the only one tracking them. The Hunter woman corners a couple of folk in the Ice Cream Parlour. The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) is on his way there too.
The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) tries to team up with Noah and the blonde girl. However, they cannot trust him so they leave him behind.
Tommy Clarke (Robbie Kay - Once Upon A Time ) has no option but to work for the villainess. After all, a polar flip (like in The Core ) is imminent, so creating a getaway hole in the future is the smart option. She shows him her operation, including her base several thousand years in the future. This is where Katana Girl has been sent, so her story thread has not been completely ended.
The Mexican wrestler and the Latino woman are subject to advanced interrogation. Even a mind-reader has to use Jack Bauer torture techniques, so they must be pretty good at concealing their thoughts. Nearby, the villainess' daughter and the runaway Evos try to infiltrate the prison camp.
The Mexican wrestler leads a breakout at the prison. Unfortunately the villainess has sent her clone army to surround the place. The clone's weapons get copied as well as his clothes, so every copy of him has a pistol. However, is he overconfident enough to risk the original version of himself? After all, if the Prime clone dies then all his copies die too.
Parkman (Greg Grunberg - Alias, Lost ) begins to doubt that the villainess will hold up her end of the bargain.
The Hunter guy (Zachary Levi - Chuck ) gets his charge to their destination. Unfortunately the villainess sends her new henchwoman in.
We get a flashback to the villainess' early life, before she became a Company Woman.
We discover what happened to HRG.
This show was not picked up for another Season. In this reviewer's opinion it is just as well, because all it did was kill off the much-loved characters of the impressive original series.
