[Season 1 !Season 2 !Season 3 !Season 4 !Season 5 !Season 6 ]
This was directed by Russell Mulcahy , whose career started so well in the 1980s and has been in permanent decline ever since. He was last seen directing the third Resident Evil Film, which gives him a status slightly above that of B-movie Eurotrash schlockmeister Uwe Boll . In all fairness, this TV show should bring him to the level of Kevin Williamson , whose career has risen from nothing (due to a ten-year retirement) in a couple of years. Scream 4 successfully rebooted the film series, and Vampire Diaries is on its THIRD Season. That said, can we compare Highlander With Dawson's Creek?
A clueless teenage boy named Scott (who looks like the kid from Kyle XY ) and his comedy sidekick named Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) - who is the brains of the pair - discover a dead woman in the woods. The protagonist gets bitten by a mysterious beast, and he later develops strange symptoms.
A new girl named Allison ( Crystal Reed ) arrives at school, and our hero falls for her. But in a predictably ironic twist of fate, her father (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) is the leader of a gang of Hunters.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), gets picked for the school sports team. Also, things hot up between the hero and his girl. But the adrenaline and testosterone bring out his wolf side. Can he control his animal instincts?
Scott and his sidekick Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) investigate the bisected woman's corpse.
This ep was directed by Russell Mulcahy .
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), has nightmares about someone being attacked on a bus. Was he responsible, or was it the new guy in town? The answer sets up the next step in the Season arc.
Our hero goes bowling with his GF Allison ( Crystal Reed ) for a double-date ... With the suspicious jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ).
Derek the creepy werewolf guy (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) chases after the Alpha, even though he knows the Hunters are waiting for a shot at him. Jill Wagner shoots the silly SOB with a poisoned bullet. He will be dead in a day or two, unless he gets the cure.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), goes to his GF's house for a study-date. This is the perfect opportunity to do some snooping.
The Alpha is on the prowl. He attacks the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ), who is still infected with wolfsbane.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), and his GF Allison ( Crystal Reed ) head off to a hunting cabin in the woods. Back in town, Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) - the comic relief character - manages the cleanup.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), has to learn how to control his powers. It has something to do with his emotions and heartbeat, so Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) borrows the team coach's heart-rate jogging monitor.
Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) discovers who the Alpha might be. But when they set out to lure the monster, have they got what it takes to trap it?
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), and his sidekick are trapped in the school. The Alpha is not working at random. He has a plan, and that includes sending a text message to the GF Allison ( Crystal Reed ) to lure her into the trap!
For a show named after a comedy film, this is serious, suspenseful and scary. Like Season One of Supernatural .
The protagonist has been dumped, so he goes all red kryptonite. It is a full moon, the Alpha's influence is stronger than ever, and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) is nowhere to be seen (on the run as a suspected murderer).
This allows for some great character development for the supporting characters.
The Alpha is after the High School Chemistry teacher. It turns out that Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) had a couple of clues all along, things his sister told him before she was murdered. One of them is the teacher's name. The other is a picture of the Argent medallion that the Hunter's daughter Allison ( Crystal Reed ) wears.
Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ) is closer to the truth than ever. But the Hunters know there is another Beta in town, and they think it might be him.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) hides Derek, and helps him track down the Alpha. It might be someone with links to the local hospital. There are two mysteries to be solved: Who is the Alpha, and who burned down Derek's home when he was a child?
The Alpha reveals himself to Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ). He tries to get to the kid through his mother, who actually gets a few lines this episode!
The hunters are closing in on Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) and the others.
Allison ( Crystal Reed ) follows her aunt's hints.
Stiles' dad, the Sheriff, makes a link between the Alpha's victims. They were all involved in the massacre of Derek's family. But will he work out that it was the hunters' fault?
It is the night of the School Formal. Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) takes the mathematician babe Lydia ( Holland Roden ), but the Alpha wants to makes an example of someone.
Jill Wagner works out who the Teen Wolf is. And she plans to show Allison ( Crystal Reed ) the horrible truth.
Everyone ends up at the ruins of Derek's house for a final battle.
The show is back, with a spiced-up opening credits sequence. This episode was directed by Russell Mulcahy himself, so is visually a notch above the average TV show.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), and his GF Allison ( Crystal Reed ) have to sneak around, like Romeo and Juliet. Her mother keeps a close eye on her. Her father and his friends are still hunting at night. Worse, Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) comes to town with reinforcements.
The new Alpha is building a pack of his own. Lydia ( Holland Roden ) was wounded last Season, and now goes MIA from the hospital. Was she infected by something other than a werewolf? Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ), the school bully, returns from his summer vacation - with a painful nosebleed. Is his body fighting The Bite?
The Hunters start their new plan, which involves replacing the school's old headmaster.
One of the other boys on the Lacrosse team is a new member of Derek's pack. The boy's father gets murdered by some monstrous entity, And the new wolf-boy is taken in by the cops for questioning. They can hold him for 24 hours, but it is a full moon! The Hunters send an assassin to kill the boy in custody. Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ), Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Hunter girl Allison race to stop him.
Our hero, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), must control his own impulses at the full moon. But he discovers there is something worse than werewolves on the loose.
Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ), the school bully, wants to videotape himself transforming. Naturally, something is bound to go wrong.
Allison ( Crystal Reed ) forgot a vital piece of evidence in the previous episode, and it comes back to haunt her. Worse, something is hunting the hunters.
Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) is nowhere to be seen, but Mrs Argent has her suspicions about Allison and wolf-boy. She takes steps to see what they are up to.
We meet the school's outcasts. One is an epileptic girl ( Gage Golightly ) whose medication causes acne. As opposed to being a teenager, that is. All she needs is a makeover. However, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) is trawling for new recruits to his pack.
Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ) did not transform, and discovers he may be immune. He was infected with the babe's blood, and she was bitten by an Alpha. Now she has waking dreams about the Alpha.
The reptilian shape-shifter claims another victim. Much like the Alpha last Season, it is taking specific victims instead of feeding randomly.
Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ) and Lydia the Maths girl ( Holland Roden ) are both suffering disturbed sleep patterns. They are both suspects, but they might have even worse problems. The town Vet (Seth Gilliam - The Walking Dead ) also has links to the Hunters - he knows more about the town problems than he let on.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) has dinner with Allison's family. Can he fool Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 )?
The school team plays a LaCrosse match. Grandpa is Headmaster, he has to attend. But can the THREE werewolves on the pitch keep their cool?
Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) sends his pack out to test suspected Abominations. Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ) is their first target. But Lydia the math babe ( Holland Roden ) is still having waking nightmares about her sire - something is definitely wrong with her, and she is the next best suspect. The heroes have to protect Lydia, they take her to Jackson's house ...
Jackson gets his minions involved in recovering the missing footage. But they get suspicions of their own.
Derek sends the blonde girl to seduce Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ).
Last Ep the guys discovered who the Abomination was. They still have to stop it from claiming its next victim - while avoiding the gun-toting hunters.
The small town has a very popular gay-bar. Also strange is how the municipal CCTV cameras (including ATM cams and the new CCTV at school) are networked and run by the Hunters!
Can our heroes keep the Abomination prisoner?
We learn a couple of new things about the monster. It only targets murderers - And it is not in search of a FRIEND ...
The Canima takes another victim. Whoever its master is, they have a list of victims. And they are not afraid of doing some killing of their own.
The Sheriff puts our heroes on a leash, they must stay fifty feet from Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ) at all times. Jackson is in denial, but the Canima is taking over his subconscious. And then they all end up in detention together. But it is not as much fun as the Breakfast Club.
Scott's mom cracks down on him as well. It seems light-hearted when she frantically searches his room - but instead of finding werewolf stuff, she finds a box of condoms. And then she tells Allison's psycho-mom.
Lydia ( Holland Roden ) meets her new friend again. The music is reminiscent of Twin Peaks , which is at odds with the rest of the ep. But we discover why she is different from the others ...
Stiles' dad, the sheriff, discovers the victims all had a connection. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) discovers that the next target will be at a Rave party.
Allison brings the Hunters. And her mom wants Scott dead.
Stiles' dad is suspended as sheriff. If the town council attempts to replace him, what are the chances the Hunters will put forward a candidate?
Lydia the redhead ( Holland Roden ) holds a party. Our heroes turn up, and as with every social gathering they attend, things start to go wrong. Someone spiked the punch with a powerful hallucinogen which makes the victim relive their fears.
The Hunter bitch has been bitten, and is under orders to commit suicide rather than transform. A pity the heroes never told her that there might be a cure.
The arch-villain has a plan to return. This may be entirely separate from the Canima's plan, for revenge on the school's 2006 Swim Team.
The good guys go to the Police Station, to get evidence against the killer. They end up getting besieged. This show is turning out more like Harper's Island.
It is the night of the big game. Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) is revealed for the arch-villain we always knew he was, and now he has the Canima on his side.
Derek's pack want to split up. But the Hunters are patrolling the woods. And Allison ( Crystal Reed ) is on the warpath.
This is the big face-off everything has been building up to. But it is not a three-way fight everyone thought it would be.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) tries to protect Lydia ( Holland Roden ). But the truth is, she still wants Jackson the Jock (Colton Haynes - Arrow ). Why, after the way he has repeatedly dumped her, is not apparent.
The ending sets up the villains for Season Three.
The town Vet's sister ( Bianca Lawson ) has Braeden ( Meagan Tandy ) rescue Isaac the junior werewolf, who has been captured by the Alpha Pack. However, a couple of Alphas follow them. This pair are identical twins who can merge.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) has bigger problems. He wants to get a tattoo to celebrate getting over Allison Argent ( Crystal Reed ). Unfortunately normal tattoos are impossible, since he just heals from the needle-marks.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) attends a party, where the girl who invited him has an agenda of her own. The good news is that she only wants to lose her cherry to him. The bad news is that one of the town's creepy monsters has its eyes on her.
The town Vet (Seth Gilliam - The Walking Dead ) helps the wolves to look for the missing pack members. He does not mention that his own sister ( Bianca Lawson ) is also missing, after she was searching for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) in the previous episode.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) try to hunt down the feral werewolves. Even with Isaac's help, they are outmatched. Luckily Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) still has the skills and weapons of an expert werewolf-hunter.
Since they do not have to kill the ferals, only keep them busy until sunrise, the plan is to lure them into the school. After all, most of the show is already set there. Why build new sets when they can just re-use existing ones?
Lydia ( Holland Roden ) discovers a dead body. She calls Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) to help, and he starts an investigation of his own.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) still works for the town Vet (Seth Gilliam - The Walking Dead ). Naturally, this works into the plot. Another victim gets abducted, presumably as part of the serial-killer whodunnit plot.
The Alpha Twins have been attending the High School since the first episode. Now they finally get to do something. Isaac finally recognises them, which leads on to a daylight transformation fight reminiscent of something from Mortal Kombat . The Alphas Twins do their two-in-one trick again. Just like The Incredible Hulk , they take their shirts off but somehow keep their pantaloons on.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) continues his investigation into the murders. He suspects the serial killer is a druid, conducting human sacrifices. This whodunnit plot is quite suspenseful, compared to the cheap OTT action scenes.
The good news is that Derek has his sister back. The bad news is that, like in Under The Dome , the show-runners had to kill off one female character in order to introduce a new one. Yes, Gage Golightly gets written out of the story almost off-screen.
Most of the male cast are on a school bus, driving to a sports match. Their team has an unfair advantage, since four of the players are werewolves. Unfortunately Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) is severely injured, and his wound is not healing. This functions as a bookend sequence, as we see a series of flashbacks that show how Scott was injured. Worse, they believe Derek to be dead.
Earlier that week, Scott discovered where the Alphas were living. It turns out they moved into the penthouse of the same apartment building that the surviving Argents had moved into. Derek plans to attack and kill the Head Alpha. Of course, this means ignoring the fact that the invaders have been several steps ahead of everyone else. It is clearly a setup for a trap.
In 1977, an Argent books into a Motel in California. The Argent has been bitten by a werewolf Alpha. Of course, as a werewolf hunter he would rather die than turn.
In 2013, over thirty-five years later, the Beacon Hills school bus arrives at the same motel. Lydia ( Holland Roden ) and Allison have tagged along, apparently abandoning their car at the truck-stop. The werewolves in the group start to act strangely.
Lydia discovers the motel has the record for the greatest number of suicides. She also discovers that her supernatural powers allow her to hear ghosts when nobody else can. Is the motel a strange ghostly suicide zone, or did someone spike the team with wolfsbane?
The regulars are all back in Beacon Hills, as if the previous two episodes did not happen. There has been a multiple-car pile-up, which means the local hospital is over-stretched. Worse, the Druid is now targeting healers. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) assumes his mother, a nurse, will be the next victim. He forgets that the town Vet (Seth Gilliam - The Walking Dead ) also fits the target demographic.
The Alpha pack blame Derek for the death of one of their own. Rather than take advantage of his presumed death, and leaving town or hiding out, he just hangs out in his normal home that the villains have already successfully attacked.
In the climax, we get a flashback of Gage Golightly . It was tragic enough that she got written out of the story almost off-screen, but at least now we get her belated death scene.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Derek's sister turn to the creepy uncle to find out Derek's backstory. It turns out that Derek's first love was Paige Krasikeva ( Madison McLaughlin ), and their love story has a tragic ending.
Meanwhile, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Allison ( Crystal Reed ) visit Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ). He has terminal cancer, and needs Scott's werewolf mojo to keep it at bay. In return, he tells the tweens a story about how Ducallion lost his sight. It was in the same time-frame, eight years previously.
These stories are told by untruthful narrators, who embellish their stories to make themselves less complicit. Of course, the audience know that because the on-screen flashbacks do not match up with the narrration.
The pre-credits sequence has a deputy turn up to the school at night. Yes, they are set up to be the next sacrifice. Unfortunately the showrunners missed a couple of opportunities. The deputy is an African-American woman, so she should have been allowed a conversation with Bianca Lawson . This would pass the Bechdel test twice - once for the regular version, and once for the person-of-colour one.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) has to tell his father, Sheriff Stilinski, the truth about all the unsolved murders in town.
The Duroch is hunting for the final set of three sacrifices. However, now the Duroch's identity will be revealed. Since this show has a limited budget and cast, there is really only one suspect.
Derek has the Duroch as his prisoner. She is the only one who can cure his sister, who is the last patient in the now-evacuated hospital. Now she must heal the sister, since the last ambulance will leave in half an hours time.
Ducallion and the Alpha Pack turn up, eager to kill the Duroch before she kills them. Derek's pack try to keep the Duroch alive. Scott's mother the nurse gets caught in the middle.
This show has a limited budget, so it tends to re-use the same sets a lot. The previous episode was centred around the school, while last Season had a die-hard episode in the police station.
Derek and his sister decide to leave town. The Duroch goes looking for Derek, and gets ambushed by the Alpha Pack. Unlike in the previous episode, she clearly has the upper hand against them.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Allison ( Crystal Reed ) undergo a druidic ritual. Each has a partner to bring them back from the dead - Scott has the vet (Seth Gilliam - The Walking Dead ), Stiles has Lydia ( Holland Roden ) and Allison has Isaac. Yes, the show is pushing the Allison/Isaac romance. That said, Lydia is still with one of the bisexual twins so it could just be a friendship thing.
Scott teams up with Ducallion against the Duroch. Unfortunately Derek has agreed to be the Duroch's protector. The showdown is timed to occur with the lunar eclipse that temporarily removes the werewolves' power.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) is having waking nightmares, Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) seems unable to control his transformations, and Allison ( Crystal Reed ) is having visions of Aunt Kate. The Vet reveals that this is a side-effect of the vision quest they undertook together in the previous episode.
Stiles' father (the Sheriff) is under investigation by Scott's father (an FBI Agent) because of his inability to close all the unsolved murder cases. Stiles and Scott try to help out by solving a werewolf killing that was written off as natural causes. Yes, even more unsolved murders.
Scott uses his super-power to run down a coyote. This ignores the fact that a real-life wolf's power to run quickly comes from its four legs. Similarly, a spider's danger-sense ability comes from it having eight eyes, not a magical Peter Tingle.
The tweens go looking for the were-coyote. Unfortunately the missing girl's father ( ) is on a revenge rampage against the animal he holds responsible for the girl's apparent death. Not only is he running around with legally-held firearms, but he has also strewn the forest with bear-traps.
Derek and his uncle are being tortured by a Latino gang who want to know the location of La Lupa, AKA the she-wolf. Naturally is incredibly vague, so the captives have no idea how to help. However, they do find out what happened to Braeden ( Meagan Tandy ), the young woman who saved Isaac in episode 3:1.
A mass murderer (Doug Jones - ) is taken to the Beacon Hills hospital for emergency surgery. Predictably, he breaks out and sets out to kill his next victim. The killer is an electrical engineer, but he seems to be magically linked to flies. Is he Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies? He says he killed his victims because they had glowing eyes - were they werewolves, or is he just obsessed with Village of the Damned (1960) ? He dismisses the John Carpenter version and remakes in general, an acknowledgement that this show is a remake of a remake.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) impresses the Japanese teacher, who invies him home for dinner. This means Scott gets to spend time with the teacher's daughter, Kira. It is stated that her mother ( Tamlyn Tomita ) has an important bloodline.
The FBI are investigating how the convict escaped in the previous episode. It seems someone helped him, and set up his next victim as a target. Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) starts his own investigation.
A handful of smoke-based supernaturals, dressed in masks like the Immortals in 300 , have attacked Isaac in Werewolf. Now they go after the rest of the pack.
The twins want to ingratiate themselves with Scott's friends so they will be allowed to join his pack. To do this, they have to help run a rave party on Halloween night for their teenage schoolmates. The bad news is that the previous episode's destruction at the power station has given the town a blackout. The good news is that the twins somehow still have access to Derek's studio apartment. Since Derek is out of town, and his sister is nowhere to be seen, they hold the party at Derek's place.
Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) takes Allison ( Crystal Reed ) and Isaac to find a Yakuza named Silverfinger (Cary-Hiro Taganawa - Mortal Kombat ).
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) goes to hospital to get checked out by Scott's mother. She treats him for his insomnia, but recognises his symptoms as the same thing his mother had.
Derek tries to protect Kira from the smoke ninjas.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) phones Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ). Somehow, Stiles has gone sleepwalking again. Now he is missing, and says he is locked in a basement somewhere. Scott gets the pack together to search the town.
It seems that during his blackout, Stiles set some boobytraps around the town. The others must locate and defuse the traps before anyone gets hurt.
Scott's dad the FBI agent arrests Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) and Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) on suspicion of murder. This is all part of the demon's plan.
The Vet visits Japan to get a cure for demonic possession.
Kira's mother ( Tamlyn Tomita ) has another way to get rid of the demon. She sends more smoke ninjas to kill it.
There is at least one subplot. Lydia ( Holland Roden ) needs answers, so she takes Allison ( Crystal Reed ) to visit Derek's uncle. He needs the Banshee's help to get his memory back.
Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) takes Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) to the mental asylum for a 72-hour hold. The good news is that the town Vet's sister ( Bianca Lawson ), as well as being the school guidance counselor, is also on staff at the asylum. She gives Stiles some helpful hints. He must avoid sleep for the next few days, because the demon will get at him through his dreams. Worse, the poison will only surpress it for a few days. After that, it will take him over again.
Stiles meets Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) in the asylum. Well, she has been living in the woods for seven years or so. The bad news is that she only has a primary-school education. The good news is that, despite being in coyote form, she did not age in dog years. However, now she wants to become a coyote again.
Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin - Superman and Lois ) and Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) are still in jail, on suspicion of murder. The evidence against them is being moved to an FBI lockup. It includes a Japanese scroll that contains a cure to the possession, so there are at least two reasons for Scott's pack to steal it.
Kira's mother ( Tamlyn Tomita ) narrates a tale of how she was interned in World War Two. The scenes in the concentration camp are reminiscent of The Terror: Season 2 . However, the danger was not mere racism. The camp's Doctor and a couple of minions were corrupt, selling medical supplies on the black market - like in The Third Man.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Lydia ( Holland Roden ) combine abilities. Derek's uncle comes up with the idea, so he can get Lydia to tell him his daughter's name.
Sheriff Stillinski faces the review panel. The FBI Agent makes a verbal statement.
Allison ( Crystal Reed ) performs the final ritual in her wolf-hunter apprenticeship, the casting of a silver bullet. Since she is an archer rather than a sniper, she chooses to cast some silver arrow-heads.
The pack are in mourning after losing one of their members. This will not be the only one they lose this Season.
The Nogitsune attacks the Hospital and the police station, so the school is the obvious next target.
Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) has been missing for a few episodes. In the post-climax scenes she is back, as a new pupil in the High School. She is set up to replace the female character who was written out.
The South American gang that tortured Derek a few episodes ago now reappear. They are still hunting the she-wolf, which is a pretty generic name. Now we find out which she-wolf in particular. She is an impressive villain for the next Season.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Lydia ( Holland Roden ) go to Mexico in search of Derek. The gun-toting Mexicans are not a drug gang after all. They are wolf-hunters, and are apparently far better than the Argents. Their base is under a nightclub. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Kira and Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) go along as backup.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) try to win Derek's trust. He is their age now, so they should be able to relate to him. However, Scott chooses to lie instead.
An axe-wielding assassin (Joseph Gatt - Z Nation ) arrives in town, and butchers a suburban family. The younger son, Scott's age, escapes and ends up in hospital.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) have bigger things to worry about. A transfer pupil from another school, Liam, is an expert at lacrosse - and looks set to usurp the team captaincy.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) try to win Liam's trust. After they messed up with Young Derek a few episodes ago, you would have expected them to do a better job. Instead, they mess up even worse. The good news is that Lydia ( Holland Roden ) still has access to her mother's Cabin in the Woods , even though it is up for sale since they need the money. The bad news is that it is the full moon, so both Liam and Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) will need to be restrained.
Liam has Intermittent Explosive Disorder. He is literally an emotional timebomb.
The Orphans are a pair of freelance assassins.
The Season comes full circle, as the regulars head to Mexico in order to rescue someone kidnapped by Kate.
The show is back, but only Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Lydia ( Holland Roden ) are left from the original opening credits. Derek Hale is now gone, replaced by Liam.
Lydia is an inmate at Eichen House. The female orderly is a bully, although we are apperntly meant to think that the friendly male orderly is a predator.
The Deputy discovers a new threat to the town, some kind of super-werewolf who wants to steal Scott's Alpha powers. It turns out that the super-wolf has been made by three creepy figures, who are the Season's Big Bad.
Kira is en route back from the airport. Her parents took her to New York for the summer vacation. Now she has a metal belt that turns into a samurai sword. Yes, it is magical so she can wear it through airport security.
The new girl at school has night terrors. As always in Beacon Hills, this is not a regular medical condition but cover for some kind of supernatural one.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) takes a new class in AP Biology. Lydia ( Holland Roden ) and Kira are taking it too, which somehow implies it is girls-only. They have a new lady teacher, while Kira's father is not seen much and the Coach is nowhere to be seen.
A tweenage thug is in police custody, and publicy threatens Sheriff Stilinski. Later, a supernatural entity attacks the transport. This is all quite predictable, although how it gets to the predictable conclusion is something of a roundabout route.
The pack try to recover from the events of the previous episode.
Liam plays wingman for his gay buddy at the town's gay bar. Well, the town has a population of thirty thousand so there could be a thriving gay population.
The pack visit Eichen House. The novel was written by the mad doctor in the basement. He mentions Peter as being a former cellmate, although we are not told where Peter is now.
Lydia's bond with Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) is mentioned several times. This seems to foreshadow a future relationship, as Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) spends time with another male.
This starts with an action sequence, with Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) having to save Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) the so-called Alpha. Rather than be a follow-up to the action in the previous episode, this scene is from the climax of this episode but edited in as a prologue so it seems more exciting.
The pack photocopy the Dread Doctors novel, and each reads their own copy.
Kira has been showing symptoms of the Kitsune's influence. She keeps losing her magical belt-sword, and has no idea where it is. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) no longer really trusts her.
Scott starts having panic attacks, or asthma attacks induced by flashbacks of the Dread Doctors. Yes, it looks like his childhood asthma is back - even though he healed when he became a werewolf.
Liam discovers that Hayden is a Chimera. They use her as bait to trap the Dread Doctors. Meanwhile, Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) stakes out the vet's office where a dead Chimera's body has been left.
The vet goes exploring in Chernobyl. The good news is that he discovers the Dread Doctors' secret base. The bad news is that the Desert Wolf ( Marisol Nichols ) makes an actual speaking appearance.
Liam and Hayden are still in the hands of the Dread Doctors. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and the others try to find them, before the Docs regard them as failures.
Sheriff Stilinski decides to play things by the book. He reports the dead Chimera, and has his deputies guard it in the morgue - even though he knows bullets will not affect the supernatural. If he succeeds, the autopsy will show the Chimera's magical atributes. Kira gets charged with murder, even though it was clearly self defence.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) tried playing things close to the chest. Unfortunately, his father and Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) will work out what happened to Donovan sooner or later.
Hayden is not recovering from the Doctors' experiments. Liam wants Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) to make her a werewolf, in the hope that she will heal herself. Scott sees that this would be counter-productive. Also, his mojo is waning so he might not be Alpha enough to turn her. Liam is over-emotional, and it is the night of the super-moon. This leads to a big fight.
The show's low budget is apparent again. This Season's new set, the High School library, seems to be a re-dressed version of Derek's studio apartment.
Sheriff Stilinski was injured, and is now dying. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) must find out what the cure is.
An enormous werewolf is on the loose. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) must find out what it is.
Kira and her mother visit the famous outdoor rock formation from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey . They meet the skinwalkers, a trio of half-naked Native American women. If Kira passes their tests, they will help her. If she fails, she will have to become one of them.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) manages to get his jeep running again. He and Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) go on a road trip together, and get some much-needed bonding time. The good news is, they are off to save Kira. The bad news is that they are heading towards the Devil's Mountain from Close Encounters .
Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) heals Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ), and the two of them go hunting together. The old man knows more about the Dread Doctors than he tells anyone. Argent discovers a mass grave, 23 bodies that the Doctors have been hiding. This is on top of the four bodies that the deputies recovered from the Nematon a few episodes ago. For a town of thirty thousand, in a county that has a population of a few hundred thousand, this is still a massive body-count. However, there is no sign of the State Police or the FBI getting involved.
Theo offers to help Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) discover the location of her mother. They borrow the Dread Doctors' technology. Braeden ( Meagan Tandy ) , the former US Marshal, comes along to help. Not because she cares about the vet, but because the Desert Wolf is the one fugitive she never caught.
Lydia ( Holland Roden ) is still in Eichen House. Her storyline catches up with the prologue in the Season's first episode.
The Beast leads the deputies in a car chase. It goes to the Hospital, which has to be evacuated - as usual.
The vet briefs Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) about the Eichen House regime. The head doctor, until recently an inmate, intends to drill a hole in Lydia's head. This will make her too powerful. Luckily, Scott has his pack back so they plan a heist.
Kira has to learn how to use her electrical superpower. Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) calls her a cheater, and points out she never worked for anything. They also discuss their problems with their mothers. At least this conversation passes the Bechdel test.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) have infiltrated Eichen House to save Lydia ( Holland Roden ). Dr Valek is helping Lydia enhance her powers enough to defeat the Beast. He already stated that her superpowered scream is powerful enough to make a man's head explode. However, will this actually be shown on-screen? That kind of thing would be banned on a network TV show, but this is a streaming show ...
The Beast sets a trap for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and the pack, involving a school bus filled with mutilated tweenagers. This is really gory, including intestines - even compared to the exposed brain scene of the previous episode. For some reason the show-makers are pushing their limits.
The Beast only appears around electromagnetic transmissions, such as media broadcasts. The next broadcast will be the school's charity lacrosse game, so the pack stake out the sports field to prevent the Beast from eating everyone present. The Coach has been in rehab this Season, so Scott and Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) have to convince him to come out of retirement.
The Argents are not in the stakeout, because they are too busy helping Lydia ( Holland Roden ) communicate with Cerberus the Hellhound. This takes three or four of the key fighters off the hunt.
Kira is on the team, but because the Kitsune is taking her over she tends to foul all the rival players. Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) tries to disable the news broadcast vans before they can attract the Beast. Unfortunately the Desert Wolf ( Marisol Nichols ) has very bad timing, and chooses to get involved.
Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) narrates a flashback to France in the 1700s. Marie Jean ( Crystal Reed ) was the village's best hunter, so when people get eaten by a monsterous wolf then she has to up her game. Since she is the spitting image of Allison, she is obviously one of the progenitors of the Argent bloodline.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and the others are still hiding out at the school, after the events of the previous episode. The beast prowls the corridors.
Everyone is after the Beast. The Doctors take him, and Scott's pack try to get him back. However, they should be careful what they wish for. He can wipe out a lot of supporting characters if they are dumb enough to go near it in a confined space.
Meanwhile, the Desert Wolf ( Marisol Nichols ) is still in town. Lydia ( Holland Roden ) protects Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) at the Sheriff's office. Braeden ( Meagan Tandy ) hangs out with Malia ( Shelley Hennig ), eating pistachio nuts in a scene reminiscent of For Your Eyes Only .
Kira visits the skinwalkers, and re-forges her magic sword.
The sides have all been announced, and everyone is after the Beast. There are lot of supporting characters still around, and a lot of them have to be written off before the next Season.
Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) is not around to help Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and the rest of the pack. She and Braeden ( Meagan Tandy ) are trying to trap the Desert Wolf ( Marisol Nichols ), who has decided not to wait until the full moon. For some reason, Braeden uses a laser sight - giving away her position and her aim point. Despite this, the Desert Wolf does not just instantly kill her. Fair is fair, since Braeden skipped a clear kill-shot earlier.
One thing that lets the episode down is a lack of clarity about the deaths of certain characters. One is attacked by the Beast, but never mentioned or shown again. Another gets a broken neck, clearly a fatal attack, but somehow easily recovers from it.
The new Season has new opening credits, which look a bit more simplified (AKA cheap). For the first time, Scott and Stiles' parents are added as regulars rather than guest-stars. There is also a switch in emphasis of the story, since Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) and Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) are leaving town at the end of the year the younger generation is being prepped to take over.
A young boy is being hunted by some ghostly riders, which have the ability to erase their victims from existence. The riders target anyone who saw them. This includes Stiles, who has conveniently broken up with Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) so his closest attachment is with Lydia ( Holland Roden ).
As with the previous two Seasons, the main monsters are a trio of mask-wearing extras. This is presumably a budget-saving option, as the characters are easy to re-cast and the mask is costume rather than make-up so if nothing else it is a lot faster to put on every day.
Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) has been cut out of the show, no doubt because the actor is a breakout movie star. At least he has not been permanently killed off, which means they are planning on bringing him back. Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) has moved on, since she has not only broken up with Stiles but seen him erased from existence. We learn that she likes cowgirl, and being the big spoon. We can also pity Stiles, now we know what he is missing out on. Hopefully Lydia ( Holland Roden ) will find a way to bring him back.
The coach is back, and looking for a new Lacrosse team captain since Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) is concentrating on his studies. Liam wants the job, but has to earn it. He also has to learn to co-exist with the chameleon boy, who is the boyfriend of Liam's best buddy Mason.
As with the previous episode, this starts with a prologue of the kids studying a physics lesson. Their physics teacher is the school's new hire for the year - and with their record so far, he is either a killer or a victim. Anyway, we get to find out what happened to the helium cannisters in Episode One. Also, a major villain reveal is shown ... in the prologue.
The Sheriff tells the pack that Stiles was his father's nickname. He refuses them access to the old man, but will not say why. This leads Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) to break into the old folks home. Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) takes an especially brutal approach.
Meanwhile, the B-team are sent to protect a girl who has seen the Ghost Riders. She attends a High School party, which means everyone else there is in danger too.
Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) is back in town, investigating the death of the helium thief. He teams up with Scott's mother, the nurse, and they discover the killer is harvesting pineal glands - like in The Relic .
Mr. Argent (JR Bourne - Stargate SG-1 ) and Scott's mother go on a not-a-date stake-out in the woods. The place is well-lit by heavy lamps giving indirect lighting, which is presumably cheaper than just using digital colour-grading in post-production. The good news is they get some more clues (well, bodies) from the super-werewolf. The bad news is that Malia ( Shelley Hennig ) is in a blood frenzy and needs to be hospitalised.
The horsemen are on the hunt again, after everyone who attended the party. Since the horsemen travel by lightning, the plan is to hide the victims in an undrground bunker. Argent and Malia are set to guard it.
The Coach decides to run a Lacrosse match in the thunderstorm. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Liam get roped into playing, in the hope that they can protect the other players.
Lydia ( Holland Roden ) tries to find something that Stiles (Dylan O'Brien - American Assassin ) left behind. Everyone else loses faith that he even existed. Nobody notices his jeep still sitting in the parking lot.
Stiles finds himself in a train station, waiting for his connection home. Hundreds of other people are in the same position. The only break from the monotony is when the Ghost Riders arrive, only staying long enough to drop off some new victims. The good news is that Stiles sees a familiar face. The bad news is that it is Peter Hale, estranged father of Malia.
Lydia discovers Stiles' jeep, abandoned in the school parking lot. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and the others try to investigate.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Malia and Lydia visit Canaan. The good news is that it is nearby, on the other side of the massive forest adjacent to Beacon Hills. The bad news is that it is a ghost town, and the only inhabitants are a banshee and a ghost.
Back at the High School, the B-Team make a new plan. They get a couple of recruits. One is the Physics teacher, who has a secret that only the audience knows. The other is Theo, who Kira gave a fate worse than death to last Season.
Mr Argent is in hospital, poisoned by a Ghost Rider's toxic whip. Scott's mother has to help him heal from this supernatural injury, because regular surgery would just kill him.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Malia are less than happy to have Theo on their team again. However, they need everyone they can get for their plan to trap a Ghost Rider.
Malia has another plan. She and Scott's mother heal Peter Hale, the only one who has escaped from the Ghost Riders' way-station.
Sheriff Stilinski is at home, obsessed with finding out about Stiles. With nobody in the police station, the B-Team lock Theo in the cells and interrogate him.
We get some of the Nazi werewolf's backstory. He was an officer in the SS Ahnanerbe, basically the bad guys out of the Indiana Jones movies. His obsession was the Wild Hunt, because he thought he could make the Ghost Riders his personal army. When his commanding officer asked how it was possible to control the ghosts, the werewolf mutinied and killed him. Of course, the General was right to be cynical and the enlisted men suffered for the werewolf's overconfidence.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Lydia and Malia go looking for the portal to the Way Station. Peter Hale refuses to help them, because they have a poor plan and little chance of success. Will he redeem himself by helping his daughter?
Liam teams up with the Sheriff. They need Theo's help, so they have to let him out. The good news is that the supposedly unkillable Ghost Riders prove incredibly easy to actually kill.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Malia and Lydia try to summon Stiles back by remembering him. This leads to a clip-show type series of flashbacks showing the best Stiles scenes from the previous Seasons.
The main Season villain, the Nazi were-lion, tries to turn the Ghost Riders into his army. He manifests their magical railroad into the real world, and controls the lever that will divert the tracks. Now Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and what remains of his pack must save the world.
The ending ties the show up pretty well. It seems this was meant to be the final episode ever. No new episodes were screened for the next six months.
Stiles has gone off to Quantico, to become a Junior G-Man. He will probably not be seen again, because the actor has his movie career. At least he leaves a voicemail for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ). Liam's girlfriend and her sister have left town too, probably for budgetary reasons. Scott volunteers as Assistant Coach on the Lacrosse team while he waits to move to his college place.
Liam and his buddy Mason are in charge now, as replacements for Scott and Stiles. The oldest inmate breaks out of Eichen House. He seems to be a Hellhound, so presumably Deputy Parrish can deal with him.
Something is driving the local wildlife insane with fear. Wolves and rats are the first victims. Humans are also susceptible.
In Quantico, Stiles discovers what happened to Derek. Yes, it looks like they will have their own subplot.
We see what happened to Theo after he helped out a couple of episodes ago. Without allies, he ended up sleeping in his truck. However, this leaves him vulnerable.
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), Malia and Lydia try to hunt down the killer. They suspect it is Mr Argent, although he has not been seen around in ages - in spite of hooking up with Scott's mother a few episodes ago. Now he is an illegal arms dealer, selling military weapons to anyone who has their own army.
The School has a new guidance counsellor. Since the school staff are usually villains, she should be the first suspect.
Lydia gets Deputy Parrish to visit Eichen House. Unfortunately the staff are just as problematic as ever.
The epidemic of fear seems to have spread to the regular humans. Worse, Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) is back in town. Ever since his son broke from his wolf-hunting agenda, he has been looking for a new protege - and now he finds one with Raw Talent.
Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) and the new hunter are still after the Lacross player. They follow him into the tunnels, with Gerard having the tactical and strategic advantage. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) takes Malia and Liam to help, but they are out of their league.
Scott's mother tries to harvest skin samples from a faceless body in the morgue. It paralyses her with fear, so she calls in Argent for help.
This starts with a young woman getting cornered by some creepy men. It plays out like the episode opener with Theo a few weeks ago.
After being outed, Liam does not want to go to school. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) makes him, but Nolan has turned the Lacrosse team against him. In fact, Nolan wants to turn the whole school against him by provoking Liam's intermittent explosive disorder. Presumably nobody noticed it in previous seasons because the Fear Demon was not around to cause paranoia. Now, only the Coach seems to be immune to the paranoia ...
The Sheriff and Deputy Hellhound go looking for the faceless body in the morgue, but it seems to have walked off by itself. Presumably this is a fear demon, which is amplifying everyone's fear and thus enabling Gerard's recruitment spree.
Scott wants to make peace with the Hunters, ending the oncoming war before it starts. Argent has a word with Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ), while Lydia meets with the guidance counsellor.
We get a flashback to Teen Wolf [Season 5, Episode 17] A Credible Threat , when the Beast left a school bus filled with mutilated tweenagers. Yes, finally events have consequences. It is a wonder that the town's mundanes did not notice the supernatural stuff before. In the Prom episode of Buffy: Season 3 , Buffy was appointed the Class Protector. At least they did not try to kill her - except in the MOO episode.
We find out what happened to Theo, and the creepy orderly from Eichen House.
Sheriff Stilinski arrests a couple of teenage werewolves, the last survivors of the Japanese woman's pack. These two are accused of murder, because they killed a couple of Hunters. Now the Hunters hold the Sheriff' office under siege. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and his pack have come along to plead their case, so they are trapped as well.
The school bullies have a new plan - cut the other pupils and identify the ones with superhuman healing. They identify one who is a were-coyote. Meanwhile, after he failed in the previous episode Nolan has to prove himself to the guidance counsellor. He is the Malfoy to Liam's Harry.
Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ) has set himself up as a licensed firearms dealer. His fortified warehouse has thirty employees, and enough weapons stored there to arm three thousand - in a town of thirty thousand. The paperwork passes FBI scrutiny. This makes the warehouse Scott's obvious target. He and Malia break in, with Argent and Lydia as backup.
As always, Gerard is a step ahead. However, this gives Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) and Malia a chance to bond more. Although she is his buddy's ex-girlfriend, it was made clear in a previous episode that Stiles would probably be okay with them hooking up.
The episode starts with a couple of American Werewolves in London. They are gay lovers, former enemies of Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ), and former lovers of Lydia!
Scott has to build an army of his own. He tries to recruit other former villains, but he has done too good a job of defeating them. Deucalion has chosen the path of peace. Peter meets up in the secure wing of Eichen House, which has apparently been closed down. Rather than go on a murderous revenge spree, these days Peter would rather cruise around in a car built by Carroll Shelby from Ford Versus Ferrari . Of course, this car is easily recognisable so Peter is basically sitting in a massive red target.
The Fear Demon is split into two halves, each possessing a different victim, and the Pack must stop them from reuniting like the Gatekeeper and Keymaster in Ghostbusters . They know that one half of the Fear Demon is a Werewolf from the branded pack. Scott McCall (Tyler Posey - Truth or Dare (2018) ) sends Liam to school to investigate the new teacher.
Lydia and Malia visit the hospital morgue, to get info from the dead Hellhound. It turns out that he is only slightly dead, but the cure will kill him anyway.
Argent has been missing for the last few episodes because he went looking for allies. He went to Mexico to hunt down Derek Hale, who has been framed for murders committed by the Hunters. Kate Argent ( ) is also still on the loose.
The Fear Demon can literally petrify people with its gaze, like Medusa. It has teamed up with Grandpa Gerard (Michael Hogan - BSG 2003 ), whose protege is recruiting regular people into her army. The nurses and deputies are collecting all records of anyone who might have a healing superpower.
Sheriff Stilinski has been abandoned by all the deputies except for the hellhound. Of course, this means the hellhound is probably the next target.
Scott has a cunning plan. The Fear Demon is hanging around in the school, so he sends his minions in and lets them split up so they can get picked off one at a time. Scott himself could simply wear a blindfold, but he has a more extreme way of removing his sense of sight.
In a subplot, Scott's mother tries to save the wolf-boys in the hospital.
All in all, this is a decent Series finale. A lot of loose ends are tied up, although there are so many that the result just seems rushed. Scott should have an army consisting of every surviving guest-star character, but this show has neither the time nor the budget to make that possible.
