The protagonist, Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) lives with his annoying kid brother and his single mother ( Sarah Clarke ). He thinks he is sleepwalking because he keeps waking up in strange places. He is befriended by a gang of teenage runaways who look like professional models who tell him that he is a genetic mutant. Like him, they all have three superpowers - Teleportation, Telepathy and Telekinesis.
They are being hunted by a Government unit called Ultra, led by Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino, rent-a-villain from the likes of Supernatural, Being Human USA ). This is like Samuel L Jackson's Paladins in Jumper .
The protagonist Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) has to deal with cliched High School stuff, along with predictable angst with his mother.
Now he has started to work with the villainous ULTRA team, his first job is to catch a reckless jackass who is robbing banks. He also has to avoid getting caught out by the telepath his boss uses to debrief all field agents.
This ep was directed by Danny Cannon .
Cara ( Peyton List ) the Mind-reading girl thinks back to the time she first got her powers. She was a hearing-impaired wallflower, who went parking with a popular kid and then changed her mind. Then she proved herself unworth of her superpowers, and illustrated exactly why a group like Ultra has to exist.
The Protagonist Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) is at a party when he accidentally reads a girl's surface thoughts. He thinks she is going to kill herself, and he has to decide the best way to save her. Everyone on both sides tells him not to get involved. Not because of a personal gain clause, but because it will draw unwanted attention.
The Tomorrow People get the Protagonist to plant spyware on the Ultra mainframe. Their plan is to get to Ultra's targets before the Agents do. Unfortunately, nobody realises that it might be a trap.
A murderous super-human is in town. Killian (Jason Doring - Veronica Mars ) was once an ULTRA agent, but was turned into a murderous super-soldier.
Why does nobody make a serious attempt on Jedekiah's life? Well, Killian tries to bomb his car, but it turns out that is just to get someone's attention. And the Tomorrow People have at least one killer in their midst. He pretends he is like them, lacking the killer gene ... but how long can he keep up the pretence?
One of the fugitives decides to sneak out and visit his mommy, even though she is probably under surveillance by Ultra. This breach of discipline, which puts the whole team at risk, convinces Cara ( Peyton List ) the babe that the kids should be allowed some R&R. Yes, she wants everyone to go out and party in some night-club. Now, what could possibly go wrong?
Our hero Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) is called in by Ultra HQ. Yes, Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) has a boss ... who he refers to as a partner, but who seems comfortable ordering Jed around. The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) is the one who ordered the hero's dad's death.
Ultra stages an attack on the kids. But despite having advantages like suprise, professional training and lots of firepower, will the Secret Agents be defeated by a handful of children who are unable to use their superpowers?
The Chinese-American kid Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) was once a prodigy pianist. But he rebelled against his father, and used his superpowers to win money in back-street card-games. Naturally, it all ended badly.
Now, years later, the kid wants to go to his father's funeral. Naturally, ULTRA may be staking it out. Nonetheless, the leader John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) chaperones him across the country from New York City to Oregon.
A superpowered thug is using his superpowers to get away with being a serial-rapist. He may not be able to kill, but he has thought his way around the problem.
The previous episode's near-death experience gave Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) a vision of his father. The message he got was Thanatos, the ancient Greek word for Death. But they do not know what its relevance is ...
Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) and Cara ( Peyton List ) break into Jedekiah’s bedroom to read his mind. Predictably things go wrong – even more wring than usual. Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) wakes up, beats Russell up ... then gets accidentally transported back to the TPs’ secret lair.
With Jed out of the picture, his boss The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) must turn up in person and coordinate the search. He cannot kill rude underlings, so he has a human minion do it for him. Yes, he has all the villain clichés (even down to the goatee beard).
The Teeps discover Jed’s one weakness – Madison ( Carly Pope ). They try to use her as leverage.
The Teeps must search for a scientist who used to work with Stephen's father.
There is still fallout from the previous ep. The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) insists that Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) tie up the loose ends – Madison ( Carly Pope ). In all fairness, the Teeps know she is Jed’s one weakness and they try to use her as leverage again.
John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) is interrogated by Ultra.
Benny from Supernatural broke out of Purgatory, and now he wants to break out of Lucifer's (oops, Jedekiah's) new prison.
Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) ups the ante for his teenage recruits. A buxom blonde named Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) assumes the hero has immunity because Jed is his uncle, so she sees him as her main rival.
Julian has a gang of fellow superpowered anarchists. Garza from Continuum is among their number!
We start with some phoney jeopardy. The hero's gal-pal goes to an audition, and some MIBs ask her to stand on Lethal Weapon 2 plastic. Naturally, the real story starts many hours earlier.
The hero's buxom blonde rival Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) rats him out to Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ). Despite having a personal reason for helping the TPs, he has to obey his boss and follow protocol. The gal-pal is targeted for assassination. The TP former leader, John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ), is shadowing her. Will Ultra get them both, or will Cara ( Peyton List ) rescue them, possibly getting caught too?
There is also a pre-teen Ultra agent who gets caught up in Jed's dragnet. The kid used his powers to save a friend. Now the friend has to be permanently silenced.
The hero himself gets taken on a camping trip with his mother, his annoying (spot the cliché) kid brother and their mother's new boyfriend. The newcomer is mysterious, having moved city and changed his name in recent years. He also exhibits telekinesis. Our hero pushes things, and gets a talking-to from his mother. She claims to have protected him, although she did seem remarkably clueless about Jedekiah.
Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) quits. The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) gives him a special job - locate his daughter ( Serinda Swan ), who has been using her powers in public. The hero's buxom blonde rival Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) is nowhere to be seen. Presumably we cannot have two babelicious guest-stars in the same episode.
Cara ( Peyton List ) and the others are hiding Stephen's gal-pal until Ultra can be persuaded to cancel the kill-order on her. Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) will not make an exception for her, but to be fair he had to fake his own girlfriend's murder.
The Russian mob at Brighton Beach hire a teleporting assassin to kill a witness. There is a lot of competition to catch him first. The hero must impress Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) to get the kill-order on his gal-pal cancelled. Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) tries to beat the hero to catch the killer.
Cara ( Peyton List ) and Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) the Chinese guy go after the hitman's money. John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) crashes at Stephen (the hero)'s place, keeping the gal-pal company and staying out of sight.
What really happened between Jed and his brother? Jedekiah's true motivation begins to come clear. He wants to implant powers in humans ... And he might want his brother's powers for himself!
The hero's buxom blonde rival Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Jedekiah's new weapon is Julian - the sadistically almost-murderous psychopath who escaped a couple of episodes ago.
John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) is still hanging out at Stephen's home, although Stephen's real family are nowhere to be seen. However, Stephen's gal-pal from High School (yes, they are unconvincingly pretending to be teenagers) is back in town after Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) cancelled the kill-order on her.
John is still exiled from the Tomorrow People. It seems to be a self-imposed exile, as Cara ( Peyton List ) claims she cannot force him to return. The little girl who escaped from Jedekiah's super-prison is still hanging around, pining for John to return.
The Teeps always claim that Jedekiah is murderous and inhuman. But they are completely cold-blooded when it comes to Julian's fate. And we never see what happens to his SWAT-team backup.
There is a leather-clad super-heroine in town. She does not bother with secrecy, Instead flaunting her powers as she battles a Vietnamese crime syndicate. The hero's buxom blonde rival Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) is intent on killing the superheroine, as Ultra demands. The Chinese-American Teep, on the other hand, recognises the stranger's MO from his time as a high roller in Vegas. He wants to follow her example, openly using superpowers to do good.
The Teeps have been hiding Madison ( Carly Pope ), but have totally failed to take advantage of her presence. They could easily have blackmailed Jedekiah into giving up all his secrets, for fear the Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) would learn that Jed did not murder her. Instead, Ms Pope takes it upon herself to seduce her boyfriend so she can steal his secrets. In keeping with the show's ambivalent attitude towards sex, she wears her nightgown over her underwear.
Since Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) has uncovered Jedekiah's secret, Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) takes him into his confidence and tells him the plan. Firstly, they must bust Cassie ( Serinda Swan , from Breakout Kings) out of the secret prison. Then they must get John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) to kill the Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ).
The problem is, Jedekiah is such a cartoonish villain that it is almost impossible to be lieve a word he says. When lumbered with a fact like this, the Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) actually has a chance of talking his way out of it. It turns out his real name is Mr Bathory - yes, like in Countess Dracula !
Cara ( Peyton List ) is distracted because there is a new breakout in town - her younger sister! Unfortunately, the girl is horrified to discover that she shares her sister's superpowers and life of adventure. Instead, little sister wants to be a ballerina.
The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) takes over Ultra. He promises there will be no more lethal force, although the SWAT team is still on hand. Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) is cynical, but his partner Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) bets him the Founder is honest. Has his daughter's fate changed him?
Stephen and Hillary try to capture a breakout who is posing as a stage magician, using his powers in public. Unfortunately, Cara ( Peyton List ) decides to save the breakout. She and Hillary end up in a catfight, while Stephen and John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) must fight in order to save Stephen's cover.
Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) is on the run, although he has not run very far. Instead of leaving town, he stays near his brother - as well as Stephen and his family.
The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) orders Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) to contact the Tomorrow People, and set up a negotiation for a more permanent truce. His main goal is getting Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ), who wants to destroy the Machine. The Tomorrow People send Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ), who accepts every single gift (food, wine, an expensive wrist-watch) . thus giving plenty of opportunity to have a tracer planted on him.
John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) goes to fetch Jedekiah, But Jed refuses to abandon his brother. The two try to guard the location, but Ultra are searching everywhere linked to Jed. The good guys have to decide - destroy the body, or try to revive it?
Can Stephen use the Machine to save his dad?
Roger, fabled leader of the Tomorrow People, is back. However, his plans do not include leading everyone to a Supernatural Sanctuary. Instead, he wants to briefly bond with his family (who have not seen him since he went into a coma six years previously) and then leave town.
John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) and Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) both begin self-destructive spirals due to their sense of guilt about what happened to Roger. Luckily, he is able to see the big picture, and is grateful for them keeping him safe from the Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ). And he will need them both if he is to take on Ultra.
With Roger abdicating from his responsibilities as leader of the Teeps, There is a mutinous rumbling amongst the great unwashed. One in particular, a blonde who has never been shown until this episode, tries to get the Group to join Ultra. Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) accompanies the rebellious rebels (counter-revolutionaries?).
Hillary ( Alexa Vega ) keeps the Founder up to date on proceedings. However, her loyalties are torn - she wants to believe the Founder's promises, but she has fallen in love with Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ). Also, she is smart enough to find a loophole in the Teeps cannot kill rule.
The Tracker that Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) and the others let the Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) inject them with also implanted a kill-switch in their brains. He will kill them, one every hour, until they hand over Stephen's father. The blonde who started all the trouble now starts blaming everyone except herself. Will Russell trust his friends to sort it all out, or will he buckle to the Founder's extortion?
Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) and Cara ( Peyton List ) try to switch off the kill-switch transmitter. They have to take on some US military guards - and these are not just stupid redshirts, they are actually good at their job!
Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) and a young girl who is apparently the Teeps' top scientist try to make a cure for the kill-switch. They inadvertently discover something Jed had spent his whole career looking for.
Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino - Supernatural, Lost ) goes out for revenge, Using his new-found powers. Yes, we have waited most of the Season for this. He breaks into Ultra as if its power-damping defences were not there. Let’s face it, they only exist when it is convenient to the plot. Just like Jed’s superpowers, which he will eventually reject (when it is most convenient to the plot).
The scene is set for a final climactic battle. The Founder (Simon Merrells – Spartacus: War of the Damned ) has mass-produced the Killer-DNA serum, and given it to a SWAT team of superpowered agents. The Teeps, however, so not go into battle en mass – perhaps for the best, because the majority of them turned traitor and helped Russell (Aaron Yoo - Friday the 13th (2009) ) sell out their Messiah. Even Jed is set on the sidelines. However, John (Luke Mitchell - Agents of SHIELD ) can still even the odds with a sniper rifle.
Finally, Stephen (Robbie Amell - The Flash ) must take on the Founder. Two men enter, one man leaves.
Although this show was cancelled, it is left open for a new Season. With Ultra gone, Jed is out of a job. He decides to start selling super-soldiers to the Pentagon …
